Lesvos flights - spring 2009

It's clear that many are experiencing difficulties obtaining cheap flight-only deals to Lesvos this spring.

Charter flight operators such as First Choice have not released flight-only options (or have only released limited numbers of places) for some destinations and this is causing frustration with those wanting to travel to the island from mid-April through to mid-May.

There are other options available, but these do require a flight change in Athens.

The best option for many will be with Aegean Air flying from Stansted. They are offering a through check-in to Mytilini with a change over in Athens. At the time of writing Aegean say they can accommodate most dates. The advtange of of this option is that you're not necessarily tied into the Thursday flight programme of the charters with other days, inc. Saturday, available. I know a number of birders who have already switched.

Olympic also offer flights to Athens and flights on to Mytilini.

Budget options include easyJet to Athens from Gatwick, Luton and Manchester. Onward flights to Mytilini are availalbe with Aegean and Olympic airlines.

Best bet is to speak to your local agent and see what they can do for you!
